Kubra Khademi

Meet Kubra Khademi (b. 1989) from Afghanistan, a performance artist (which remains inconceivable in the context of Afghan ultra-patriarchal society) who walked the street of Kabul for 8 minutes wearing a metal structure which exaggerated breasts and buttocks and since has gone into hiding, her life being threatened.

Watch the interview in the BBC article where Kubra explains her work, showing that wearing this corset or the burqa ultimately say the same thing about the status of women today. She has a Facebook page but has blocked more friends, doubtless for security reasons, sadly. In Afghanistan especially, women need to fight for showing up the bleeding injustices they are subjected to on a daily basis.
