Gökhan Aslan

gokhan-aslan-tuyapperformance
This courageous Turkish artist has presented a remarkable installation, first in Diyarbakir and in November 2015 in Istanbul’s Tüyap art show: women wearing black niqab move with chains round a body covered with a bloodstained sheet. This acute criticism of Fundamentalism as incarnated by Daesh/ISIS also shows up the Turkish government’s close relationship with this extremely misogynous and murderous terror group.
Aslan has received death threats for his work
